3 Ways to Start Mom Self Care That Are Easy and Low Cost.
Being a mom is all about looking after things and people. You’ve got your kids to raise and haul around, your work if you’re dedicated to your career as well, and then there’s the house and laundry which needs to be kept in a semi livable state at least! Putting all your time and effort into those tasks, which are always ongoing and never truly completed, leave little energy for looking after yourself.
And that means you need some quick home solutions that won’t cost you anything, and will really work to recharge your batteries. Sound like something you’ve been in desperate need of? Even if you don’t, a little TLC from time to time won’t hurt anyone; here are some ideas for doing just that!
Know What Sets You Off
Everyone out there has their own triggers, but when you’re a mom, there’s quite a few themes in the kind of stressors that can immediately rile you up! Once you’ve identified these, you can take steps to deal with how they make you feel. For example, the morning commute or trying to convince your kids to eat their breakfast a little faster.
It takes some effort, but it’s worth it in the end. Of course during these times you’re going to be in a rush, or unable to take a moment for yourself, but once you can make sure you do. It’s this time that’ll make the rest of the day go much better. So take a trip to the toilet when you get to work or when you come back from dropping the kids off, to get into a mindful headspace.
Get a Good Night’s Sleep!
This is the first thing you should try out in your effort to ease off some of those biggest mommy worries. If you have the energy to cope with a new day and all the unique challenges it presents from your children and the rest of your family, you’re going to have a much clearer head about making any decisions.
